Let’s meet the three last teams fo Season VII!

We are now a few days ahead of the first week of Season VII and it’s time to present the last teams that will be fighting on rollerskis next week!

Seasoned athletes and promising rookies

Lager 157 Ski Team from Sweden is one of the most accomplished pro team on the circuit, cleverly composed with seasoned athletes and promising newcomers in order to fight at the top of the standings.

The team’s leader is Emil Persson, title holder in Vasaloppet and he is accompanied by renowned athletes: Runar Skaug Mathisen who climbed on the podium in Birkebeinerrennet this winter, Torleif Syrstad which is one of the best when the road gets uphill and Marcus Johansson, the sprinter of the team who will certainly be present in the fight for the green bib.

Lager 157 Ski Team has recently acquired the services of Oskar Kardin, formerly a rider of Team Ragde Charge. The Swede is author of 5 top 10 at Vasaloppet, equaling his best performance this winter with a 7th place.

How to talk about rookie without talking about Alvar Myhlback? The Swede born in 2006 is one of the most talented of its generation and despite is young age, he showed impressive talent in long-distance, especially with his 8th place at Vasaloppet this winter.

On the women’s side, Lager 157 Ski Team is represented by Karolina Hedenström who showed impressive progress since this winter and a great sporting maturity despite his young age as she gets the 2nd place at Jizerska in Czech Republic. She will be someone to watch closely this summer and in the years to come.

Alongside Hedenström, we find Linnea Johansson. The Swede is also a very promising talent, placing 25th at the Alliansloppet 2022 and 23rd at the Vasaloppet this winter.

The Gnosjö spirit

Ski Team Göhlins is really attached to its roots in Småland, a region of Sweden with green forests, stunning landscape and widely known for the Gnosjö spirit, which inspires the inhabitants of the region to be bold and creative.

The best talents from Småland are gathered in this team, starting with Hilda Löf, the only female representative of the team, who achieved a solid 27th place at Alliansloppet 2022.

Regarding men, the green colors of Ski Team Göhlins representing the deep forests of Småland will be worn by Filip Rosjö and Elias Andersson, respectively 63rd and 90th at the last Vasaloppet. They will be accompanied this season by Simon Jonsson and Emmanuel Elmersson.

May the Gnosjö spirit be with Ski Team Göhlins!

The Green Train, between studies and competitions

The specificity of the athletes of Team NTNUI Sweco is that they are all students at the prestigious Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. The University started it skiing program for students in 1910 and the long-distance pro team was founded in 2018, which makes it one of a kind.

In addition to being pro riders, the athletes are following high level studies in automation, robotic, cybernetics, energy, environment and so on. They put as much effort on the studies that they do on the skis!
